Memphis style: what is it and what does Bob Dylan have to do with it. #lavrov_inspiration
In the world of design and fashion, everything is cyclical. Memphis style is popular again.
⠀
Memphis is a group of postmodern designers who joined together on December 11, 1980 to look at design as a bold experiment.
The name of the group was given by Bob Dylan’s song “Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again” – members of the Memphis group sought to escape from generally accepted standards and contrasted themselves with “good taste” in its traditional sense.
With what did they do it? Experiments! Experiments with anything: shape, color, material, texture. But something nevertheless united all these objects and interiors: shapes – geometric, colors – bright, materials – high-tech, ornaments – contrasting and colorful.
Memphis style:
practical materials and ornaments of bright colors.
For example – geometric or imitating natural motifs: leopard spots, snake skin, etc. On the walls you can often see combinations of different colors and shapes.
Decor will be a great solution: rugs, carpets, vases or bright dishes.
